AMBULANCE
Emergencies 999 from land lines 112 from mobiles

We are fortunate in St Michael’s to be within the area covered by the North West Air Ambulance. This was established in 1999 and has been flying life saving missions throughout the North West region from its operational base at Blackpool Airport for the past nine years.
Flying seven days a week, 365 days a year the vital life saving service covers 5,500 square miles and a residential population of seven million people yet receives no central government or lottery funding. It costs £3.5 million per year to maintain both aircraft, all of which is generously donated by members of the public.
As a resident we hope that you will find way to support the Air Ambulance. Already several parishioners have been welcome recipients of the service.

LOCAL FOOTPATHS AND WALKS
There are many public footpaths within the parish.

Some of the most popular are on the banks of the River Wyre but others follow farm tracks and cross fields. The local Ordnance Survey map 1:25,000 series maps 286 and 296 will prove helpful

Please observe the Country Code, keep dogs on leads where there is stock, take litter and dog mess home, avoid damage to crops and property and enjoy exploring our area.

Wyre Borough also supplies information about walks in the local area on their web site:
http://www.wyrebc.gov.uk

For maps of footpaths and bridleways see Lancashire County Council’s Mario web site:
